Recently affiliated to Triathlon England, Gosforth Road Club is one of the largest and most active cycling clubs in the North East. Through the club secretary, Gosforth R.C. has a long association with triathlon and in recent years the number of club members competing in triathlon has steadily grown.

The club has a dedicated triathlon liaison officer, Richard Dodgson and is planning to organise triathlon specific training sessions in the future. Members of the club meet on both a Saturday and Sunday morning for rides of varying length and intensity around scenic Northumberland.

In addition to triathlon, the club can act as a friendly introduction to other cycling activities – road racing, time trialling, track racing and mountain biking, as well as holidays and other social activities.

Gosforth Road Club Triathlon Tasters –

Open to current and any potential new members of the Gosforth Road Club, these tasters will take place at Gosforth Pool. Consisting of 45-minute coached swim sessions followed by the opportunity to meet with other triathletes and learn more about tri-specific training and racing. These sessions will run between 1-2 pm on a Sunday afternoon starting in April 2008 (the exact start date will be confirmed soon). These taster sessions are supported by Triathlon England North East and are planned to run initially for a period of 12 weeks.

Please contact Richard Dodgson if you are interested in attending these sessions.
